As quoted from world renowned artist Pablo Picasso, "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." A childlike quality in the imagery and style of many 20th century master artists adorns some of the most famous artworks in history. This phenomenon can be seen in the Masters Collection at our gallery and especially in the upcoming Pablo Picasso Exhibition: The Diary of a Master. In dedication to these playful pieces, the January 2017 Feature of the Month will include a selection of children themed and styled artworks from our decorative collection. Get 10% off the selection only for the month of January. Visit the Feature of the month page here to view the lineup.
Alejandro DJ was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico but grew up in the town of Caguas. As a child he drew and painted all the images he liked: super heroes, faces, cars, monsters and the like. At the age of ten he met Victor Torres Lizardi, a professional painter from Caguas who awakened in him, his everlasting love for art. At sixteen he moved to New York City, where he started observing the masters’ work in museums and galleries. Alejandro DJ studied at Famous Artist’s Schools in Westport, Connecticut and Art Student’s League of New York City. In 1985 he founded the Alejandro DJ Studio in Caguas, an art school born of genuine interest for a figurative art education with effective communication available to children and adults. He dedicated 28 years of his life to teaching basic and advanced drawing and painting skills in the traditional method. This award winning artist is now on display in our Winter Park, FL gallery. Stop in during our business hours or contact our fine art sales associate for any questions about our collection of Alejandro DJ artworks.
