About the Art
This is an original mixed media on canvas by Russian-born artist Elena Bond. She began drawing at a very early age and attended her first art school at 11 where she decided this is all she wanted to do with her life. She is known for her vibrant, energetic paintings that bring Impressionism into modernity, pushing the Impressionist movement to the verge of abstraction. She portrays the dynamism of New York City in this colorful work. While the piece is abstracted the cars and buildings can still be made out like looking through a hazy window after a rainstorm. The beautiful sunset colors reflecting off the wet road really shows the detail Bond puts into all of her pieces.
