About the Art
Ted Goerschner was born in New Jersey in 1933 and knew he wanted to be an artist from age six. His grandfather was his inspiration as he was a successful painter and sculptor. Goerschner attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art in New Jersey and The Art Student’s League in New York. While trying to advance his art career he supported himself in many professions. In 1977 Charles Movalli wrote an article on him in American Artist and his career took off. He is a Master Signature Member of Oil Painters of America and the California Art Club. He has been featured in multiple magazine articles and has won many awards for his work.
Depicted in this piece is a gold course. Goerschner’s use of soft brushstrokes and blending in the piece is very reminiscent of the soft mist of the morning at the 1st tee, the sign of a good and relaxing day.
