About the Art

This is an original lithograph from a 1960 edition of the legendary literary magazine Verve. Marc Chagall continually incorporated religious themes and motifs into his artwork.  Chagall had a special affinity for lithography because it allowed him to work in a painterly manner. This work comes framed in black shadow box with off white matboard.

Marc Chagall was a versatile artist who worked in almost every medium. In his work he fused multiple artistic styles with symbols from his Jewish heritage.
