About the Art
This is an original giclee on paper work by the Italian artist known as Pino. Pino Daeni was an Italian American book illustrator and artist. Trained in Italy at the Art Institute of Bari, and later at Milan’s Academy of Brera, he perfected his skills painting nudes and figures. He is known for his intimate interior scenes of women and the ability to capture the movements and expressions of his subjects so beautifully. Using soft pastel colors and loose but accurate brushwork, he captures the tenderness of a moment.
Depicted is a woman standing in a kitchen. The white of her apron adds a nice contrast to the darker tones in the piece and makes the woman the main focal point. Pino also skillfully balances the warm and cool colors masterfully and his soft brushstrokes are like a soft, fading memory.
